Chirps and Cheeps

With another free day at my disposal, I thought I'd take a ride to Conesus Lake - a good hour and a half away from here.  I wanted to check out the great numbers of water fowl at an inlet that birders have been posting about.  Some of the reports included birds that would be life-listers for me - like Killdeer, Sandpipers, Swamp Sparrows, and Cliff Swallows.  I was very anxious to add them to my list.

I drove around the perimeter of the entire lake, seeking the inlet that was "the spot" but I couldn't find it.  I found a fishing area and another Wildlife Managed Area (WMA), but nothing with the numerous Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, and shore birds that are being reported.  I'm hoping to get more specific directions and try again another day...

I did capture a few photos en route and was thrilled to spot an American Kestrel and an Indigo Bunting.
