Last spring, I was so excited to see a Fox Sparrow under the feeder outside my office window. That life bird occasion was on April 16th of last year; the post is here:
A Fox Sparrow at Home.
I knew a couple of people had seen Fox Sparrows lately and I was very much hoping that last year's sparrow would remember our address. Sure enough, 8 days earlier than last year, he stopped by! The same sparrow? Well, I can only guess!
About an hour later, the one Fox Sparrow was joined by another one and I happily took many photos of them as they joined the Juncos, Song Sparrows, American Tree Sparrows, Northern Cardinals, Purple Finches, American Goldfinches, Tufted Titmice, Black-capped Chickadees, and Mourning Doves at the feeders. None of the birds seemed to mind the cold and rain and the two celebrity sparrows scratched away in the dirt and grass oblivious to my attention. A few photos are below...
