I ran into Dean DiTomasso at Woodlawn Beach SP today.  We both had our eyes on a Sanderling running between the waves on the beach when we met up.  We continued birding together and, back in the park area, we saw many warblers - fourteen species in all!  There were several Red-eyed Vireos, which was probably due to a big movement of them last night - and several thrushes were around too.

The best moment was when Dean said he saw a Golden-winged Warbler.  They are such beautiful birds but I wasn't able to get my eye on it quick enough.  It was down in the underbrush and the bird scurried away too quickly for me.  I was disappointed but not for long...  A short while later, JaJean Burney came by and we told him about the warbler.  He was able to refind it down by the creek and he let me know where it was on his way out.  I was still in my car, resting my feet and finalizing my checklist.  I pushed my sore feet to get me down to the creek where I was finally able to get some nice views (and photos) of that beauty!  Thank you, JaJean!  It was well worth the push!
