Chirps and Cheeps

I've done a bit of driving around lately - mostly looking for a Cattle Egret but also keeping my eyes and ears open for any irruptive or vagrant bird the winds might blow in.

As I drove past dozens of farm fields, visited nature preserves, hiked lakeside trails, and drove through the Batavia Wastewater Treatment Plant, I happened upon some nice finds - not my target birds, but nice finds, nonetheless.

I saw several American Kestrels and I've been fortunate to find a few males recently.  Up until recently, I've only gotten photos of females, so finding some handsome males has been a real treat.
