Chirps and Cheeps

I took a quick walk through Tifft Nature Preserve today, as hard as it was since I have only just returned from the rigorous trip at McGee Marsh.  It was nice to be back in Western New York, though, seeing some WNY birds.

It was on the quiet side at Tifft, but I did see my First of Year Wilson's Warbler and a Lincoln's Sparrow.

The next day, I took a drive down to the Fredonia area and visited a few spots that I hoped might be productive for migrants. There weren't many warblers, but I had some nice photo opportunities of some newly arrived regulars. A pair of Wood Thrushes were busy with nest building and a Warbling Vireo allowed some close views.  A Willow Flycatcher must have been trying to attract a mate as he sang his "Fitz Bew" song repeatedly.
