Beautiful Day at Birdsong

It was unseasonably warm today so I decided to knock off early from a frustrating work day and clear my head with some of God's beauty and peace. What a GREAT decision!
Before I even got to Birdsong, my destination of choice, I spotted a Red-tailed Hawk perched in a tree overlooking a small pond. I quickly turned my car around and got a few nice shots of him. The best were of him flying - soaring and sailing on this gorgeous day. Oh, what a day to be a hawk! And much to my surprise, there was a duck swimming in the pond that I've
never seen before (or paid attention to): an American Black Duck, which I shall gladly add to my life list!
Birdsong was wonderful today. The sights and sounds of spring were everywhere. I even stopped to listen to a chorus of frogs croaking. I saw my FOY Red-winged Blackbird - 8 of them, to be exact. And my highlight of the day? 3 Eastern Bluebirds!
Species seen were: Red-tailed Hawk American Goldfinch Black-capped Chickadee Song Sparrow House Sparrow Eastern Bluebird White-breasted Nuthatch Blue Jay Northern Cardinal Red-winged Blackbird Red-bellied Woodpecker Downy Woodpecker Grackle American Robin American Crow
You can really see his red tail in this shot! What a day to be a hawk!
