  Yellow Warblers Galore!

I was going to take a quick trip to Tift Nature Preserve to see if I could find a few warblers. I intended to be gone only a couple of hours, but time sure gets away from me when I'm birding! Especially when I'm surrounded by many, many Yellow Warblers. What a treat! I also saw a couple of Tennessee Warblers, and I'm not sure, but maybe a Magnolia or a Canada Warbler. I can't tell from my photos (too poor to post) whether there are any wing bars or a rust colored cheek.

I was very surprised to get some nice views of a small flock of Cedar Waxwings too. I haven't seen these guys in quite a long time - outside of a very brief stop-over last fall.

I have an unidentified bird in a couple of the photos; I suspect it's a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher.

What a great birding morning that turned into a four hour feast for my over-worked eyes!

These are great pictures! How nice to see a Cedar Waxwing after so many years. And the warblers are so pretty! Beautiful picture of the young deer too.
