I noticed a pair of Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers coming to our huge back pine tree yesterday - so today I decided to pull out my photo dome (aka hunting blind) and do a little stalking of this handsome couple.
In-between visits from the sapsuckers, I managed to capture a few photos of some other unsuspecting subjects: Gray Catbird, junvenile Dark-eyed Junco, Blue Jay, Eastern Towhee (who has been returning since my last post:
An Eastern Towhee Visits), Red-winged Blackbird, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Chipping Sparrow, and Mourning Dove.
It looks like I never did capture a good photo of the female Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. I guess I'll just have to try again!
