It's Sparrow Season

It's "sparrow season" here in
WNY. With just about all of the warblers gone, barring some late departures by Yellow-rumped and Orange-crowned Warblers, we have sparrows to "hunt".
I've been happening upon a few fall species in my travels, namely Fox, Lincoln's, White-throated, and White-crowned. And I just saw my first American Tree Sparrow the other day, which swaps places with the Chipping Sparrow. Most of our
WNY resident sparrows still remain for now, like the Chipping, Field, Song, and Swamp sparrows. But alas, they too will be leaving our area for warmer temps soon. In the meantime, I'll be out there enjoying them - hope you will too!
