The Magical Month of May

It's like Christmas morning for me! Excitement has been building as we've been heading towards that magical month that all birders in Western New York live for, the magical month of May. There's just nothing like it. Spring migration hits it peak during this month and we are treated to those lovely jewels and our colorful favorites, the warblers! And here we are; it's May 1st and the fun is about to begin!
In addition to the warblers that pass through the Atlantic flyway that the Great Lakes region is blessed to sit within, we look forward to seeing flycatchers return to our area, Baltimore and Orchard Orioles, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, sparrows, thrushes, vireos, sandpipers, and more.
