  April Snow Surprise

We had a surprise snow storm here in Western New York - at the end of April!  Our spring has been so unusually warm that this took us by great surprise. I feel bad for the birds who have migrated into the area a little early - as well as the tree blossoms that the overnight freeze has most likely destroyed.

I do enjoy the snow for one reason, though: it brings out the birds to our feeders in great numbers. I was ready for them!  I heated up the bird bath, spread out extra food, and grabbed my camera...

Oh, and the photo of the robins is interesting - a day after the snow, I was coming up onto our deck and startled a young robin who was sitting on the steps. Everything is early this spring, including nesting activities. I watched for quite awhile while this little guy's parents scurried about the yard finding him worms to keep him happy!
