Another cold, dreary, rainy day here in Buffalo, New York - but in spite of the gray day, lots of color showed up in our Orchard Park yard!
As I was working, a quick glance out the window showed a flash of yellow. It was out behind the lilac bushes in the blossoms of the apple tree. I quickly grabbed my camera and edged towards the apple trees. I had to wait a little while for this jewel to come back - but sure enough, the prettiest warbler I've seen to date startled me by settling on a bush very close by. I held my breath and clicked off a couple of shots before he flitted away.
Shortly after that, both a Nashville and a Tennessee Warbler came by along with a Red-eyed Vireo - all coming to taste whatever it is the blossoms are giving. THEN - an Indigo Bunting showed up! I nearly swallowed my gum! What a beauty! I got my best shots of the day on this little guy. He posed so nicely for me - what a dear!
Later on in the day, I couldn't stand being chained to my computer any longer - I took another walk and was happy to see a Yellow Warbler. What a day! I wish this season would last forever...
